I have always had a love for the water whether it be a lake, pond, stream or swimming pool for that is where my happy place resides. I spent every summer swimming, skiing and fishing every opportunity that arose. I have found being in the water to be a calming and fun place and have always worked in a career of helping individuals. Combining those 2 elements became reality 3 years ago when I had the opportunity to become a certified aquatic instructor. I have a background in EMS and Physical Therapy where I have treated and served various age groups, medical conditions, and environments. I am currently working part time in the Physical Therapy field in specialized skilled environments and treating children with disabilities in the pool. I recently obtained certification as a survival swim instructor and am excited to bring this service to our town and the surrounding communities. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, drowning is the #1 cause of unintentional death in children ages 1-4 years. Deaths occur in swimming pools, hot tubs, spas and many other kinds of bodies of water. That is unacceptable and preventable if we train and equip kiddos with the skills needed to survive an aquatic accident.
