At Aqua Swim Kids, your child will learn the following skills:
Infant Survival Lessons
Children ages 6 months (or when able to successfully roll from a face down to face up position on land) – 1 year old are taught the survival back float. They will learn to:
- Hold their breath in the water
- Roll from a face down position to a face up position
- Float and breathe for an indefinite period of time
- Perform these skills in a bathing suit and fully clothed
Survival Swim-Float-Swim
Children ages 1 year old and over are taught to swim-float-swim. They will learn to:
- Hold their breath in the water
- Swim short distances with their faces in the water
- Roll over and float on their back when air is needed and to continue this swim pattern to the wall, steps, or any other exit.
- Perform these skills in a bathing suit and fully clothed

Welcome to Aqua Swim Kids – Teaching Survival Swimming to children of New Jersey.
Aqua Swim Kids is here to provide the families of New Jersey access to a result oriented swimming program. My mission is saving lives, one child at a time!
Prior to moving to New Jersey in 2013, my family and I resided in Connecticut. While living in Connecticut, our family learned about a survival swim program. My youngest started survival swimming when she was less than two years old. Today, she is able to Swim-Float-Swim and enjoys swimming.
With the move to New Jersey in 2013 and the lack of a survival swim instructor in New Jersey, we drove up to Connecticut on a frequent basis to have her swim with her awesome instructor in order to maintain her valuable skills.
The amazement this program brings to the parents and the confidence that children gain from participating in this program is priceless. Being a part of the program as a parent for several years and watching poolside as children take their first breathe of air is very rewarding. This was my inspiration in becoming a Certified Survival Swim Development Instructor. It is my honor to bring this wonderful program to the state of New Jersey!
